About Erica
Growing up I was always surrounded by seniors. Whether it was a family dinner, special occasion, or just being picked up from school, my great aunts and grandparents were always there to lend a hand. They were always there for me when I needed them and they taught me so much about life, including impeccable table manners! Haha! As a result of these experiences, I always knew that I wanted to work with seniors and help them live their best and most fulfilling lives possible.
At the age of 19, I was given the opportunity to do just that when the health of both my great aunts began to deteriorate and they needed my help. So what began as helping aging family members, soon turned into a deep passion for the senior community and inspired me to follow a career in Recreational Therapy.
Now with 16 years of experience in the field (along with a diploma in Gerontology-based Therapeutic Recreation and a Dementia Care Provider certification), I have a profound understanding of the emotional, intellectual, physical and financial needs of seniors and their families. My years of experience range from home care, adult day programs, Independent & Assisted Living, as well as complex care. All of this has opened my eyes to the wide array of stimulating environments for seniors to thrive in.
Knowing that there are many fears and misconceptions about what it means to place a loved one into a “home”, I have made it my mission to help families discover a new way of senior living. With a compassionate understanding of the emotional stress and challenges a big change like this can have on both the senior and their loved ones, I have created a personalized senior living concierge service to help families navigate through a wide variety of senior living communities and resources, so that they can choose the perfect environment for their aging loved one with ease.
